How did you start your journey with All Kine CrossFit? How long have you been a part of All Kine CrossFit? What made you join All Kine CrossFit?

I joined AllKine CrossFit in 2019 after a random try out with “Bring a friend” day, a day I’ll always remember! My wife introduced me to both AKCF owners Mark and Joanna, who immediately provided very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. As for the “light intro workout”…I was so out of shape, I almost fainted that day…an eye opening experience! Growing up, I stayed pretty fit, in my teens and twenties, played baseball, basketball, ran, worked out at the gym, surfed and played golf. When I worked out at the gym, it was free weights without supervision or any set program. In my 30-40’s, I started practicing yoga. Wanted to stay flexible for golf. Then “life happens”, got married, had children and stopped exercising, fell out of shape for the next 10-12 years. Priorities changed, “Family First” and my health was secondary. I was career focused, gradually became overweight, I let myself go a bit. Got the “dad bod” real quick! I remember having my belly in the way, hold my breath to tie my shoes, the “fat pants” were tight and beer belly was in full effect! At 58 yo, kids old enough to fend for themselves, it was time to get back in shape. (Insert “Rocky” theme song!) 2019 was a pivotal year: I lost over 25 pounds, pants got loose and felt rejuvenated, like a 40yo, even hitting the golf ball same distances or farther until now. Fast forward to 2023, my core is stronger, energy levels are great and fatigue is not a factor any longer. I can play golf 3 days straight, no problem! I’m committed to CrossFit workouts 3 days per week and it’s renewed my game in all facets of life: work, home and play! AllKine CrossFit is the perfect gym for me, because they practice the Level Method, which requires fundamentals training first, then assess your level of fitness and choose the right program best for YOU. Very similar to martial arts: white, yellow, orange, blue, purple and brown levels. I go lighter on some days, harder when I feel stronger. No peer pressure and leave you ego at the door. What’s most important is the workouts are carefully structured 1 hour classes with a dedicated coach and you are never left on your own like in the other bigbox gyms. CrossFit is addictive…all in one, a great way to sweat out stress, increase stamina, strength and feel better! I am committed! Mahalo AKCF!
