Why did you choose All Kine CrossFit? Why do you keep coming back?
I started CrossFit in 2008. I injured myself in 2013 and had to stop. The Level Method that I was introduced to at AllKine really made sense to me. I was a bit apprehensive, but Mark and Joanna gave me the confidence I needed to get back into WOD mode.
I felt welcomed within the AllKine community. I met an amazing group of humans and athletes. I don’t feel like I have to perform or be a competitor to feel like I belong.
What’s your best story about AKCF?
Besides the fact that I’m 57 y.o. ?
I came in to AllKine after 5 years of complete inactivity due to multiple injuries and a huge weight gain.
Within three months of training 3 times a week, I changed my eating habits, lost 23 lbs of my extra 50 lbs and felt strong again. I went from White Level to Orange/Blue.
On a human level, I believe I have made friends for life. I love our group of amazing women, their uniqueness and huge hearts.
What advice would you give the person you were a year ago?
There is life after injury. There is a way to stay in shape at a level that is suited for my age, physical form and needs. Don’t be afraid. It is possible.
